Cataract Surgery

Cataract is the commonest cause of decrease vision worldwide. Age related Cataract surgery is the commonest surgical procedure performed globally.

The surgery involves removing the natural cataractous lens through small incision Phacoemulsification surgery and implanting an artificial lens in it’s place for clear image. The surgery is 20 to 25 mins long and done under topical, local & general anesthesia depending on patient age and health conditions.

Before surgery a detailed history is taken followed by a detailed ocular examination.

Patients than undergo occular biometery for calculating lens power. There are various types of lens available for providing visual rehabilitation.
