Uveitis

An eye condition that results in the inflammation of the occular structures leading to visual symptoms. The inflammation can involve all layers of the eyeball and associated structures.

The condition can result secondary to various systemic autoimmune diseases. Management involves systemic and occular investigations to rule out the underlying cause and treatment with steroids, immunosuppressive drugs and treatment of the cause. The condition is long term and is marked by cycles of remission and relapse.

I provide uveitis services for my patients with close attention and serial periodic checkups.
